We are redefining youth work by using our values and a holistic approach to provide full-circle mentoring for our children and young people

Shaping a generation

OUR VALUES

At the heart of our practice lies a commitment to inclusivity, creativity, and diversity. We prioritise building authentic, sustainable, and safe connections between young people and supportive adults, recognising this as a fundamental driver of our work. Our practice is guided by core values of openness, honesty, patience, and flexibility.

Through our AMBIT model, we strive to empower every young person to explore their passions within a comprehensive mentoring scheme. Our approach is holistic, focusing on active participation and tailored activities that contribute to the overall development of the community. We prioritize the needs and voices of young people by actively listening and engaging with them. While we make no guarantees, our team approaches every challenge with a positive, can-do attitude.

We firmly believe in the effectiveness of our approach, understanding that true progress in youth work is achieved through collaboration with young people.

WHY WORK WITH US?

So, the big question...

We are two Level 6 NYA qualified youth and community development practitioners who embody aspiration, motivation, bravery, inspiration, and thoughtfulness. We firmly believe in the potential of young people; with the right life tools they will enrich our communities.

With a combined experience of over 10 years, we have provided specialised educational support, mentoring, and recreational programs both in Greater London and internationally. Our commitment extends beyond service provision; we place immense value on fostering dialogue that promotes mutual learning among ourselves, fellow professionals, and the young people we serve.

As graduates of Goldsmiths College, we have deepened our understanding of the social needs of young people and youth culture through immersive placements in Croydon, Lewisham, and Wandsworth. Our journey equipped us with invaluable insights into effective community engagement and youth empowerment.

Driven by a passion for innovation and social impact, we aspire to evolve into an organisation that pioneers solutions, advancing the field of youth work and creating lasting social change.

Our services span across several Local Authorities, including Croydon, Sutton, Merton, Wandsworth, Lambeth, and Lewisham. Additionally, we extend our reach internationally, delivering impactful work in Hamilton, Bermuda.

How did I get here?

I always knew I wanted to work with children - I always thought I would be a teacher! I was not sure what my job would be but I knew I needed a change in my life, and working with children and young people in truly my passion. I have worked in mainstream schools, second-chance schools, and schools with children and young people with special needs, and I love my job.

I went back to university (AGAIN!) to study Applied Social Science, Community Development and Youth work. I achieved a First Class with Honours (see what happens when you put your mind to something!). The hustle is real and my journey has only just started...

How did I get here?

March 30, 2016, was the day I became a mother. I made a vow that if I had to spend any time away from my son, it would be to provide a better future for us. I did not want to be a parent who was unfulfilled and I am so passionate about being a part of change in the youth community.

To be a power asset to young people, I felt I needed to obtain vital information to make an impact. My next step was university to study Applied Social Science, Community Development and Youth work. I was struggling with my work and I found out I was dyslexic. I did not let that stop me - I have now graduated and now I am grinding non-stop to see the AMBIT vision come alive!
