BEHAVIOR  POLICY

AMBIT Youth & AMBIT Youngerz Holiday Club – Behavioral Guidelines

To ensure that all children and young people enjoy a safe, supportive, and inspiring experience, AMBIT Youth has clear behavioral expectations and discipline procedures in place. We encourage all parents and guardians to review and discuss these guidelines with their child before camp begins.

Our Expectations

At AMBIT, we create spaces where every young person feels seen, heard, and valued. To maintain this environment, we ask all participants to follow these key guidelines:

  1. Respect for Leaders and Staff
Campers are expected to listen respectfully, follow directions, and cooperate with counselors and staff at all times.

  2. Respect for Each Other
Kindness is key. Bullying, teasing, swearing, name-calling, intimidation, or damaging someone else’s belongings is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

  3. Respect for Our Space
Campers should treat all equipment, supplies, and facilities with care. Intentional damage or vandalism is not allowed

All campers will be reminded of these expectations during the first day of camp and supported to uphold them throughout the program. We promote open communication—if a camper feels uncomfortable or needs help, they’re encouraged to speak to any AMBIT staff member.

Discipline Process

We understand that learning and growth include making mistakes. When behavioral issues arise, our goal is to guide young people back to positive choices through the following steps:

  1. Gentle Redirection
Campers will first be gently redirected to help them refocus on appropriate behavior.

  2. Reminder & Guided Support
If the behavior continues, staff will review the expectations with the camper and support them in identifying steps to improve their behavior.

  3. Parent/Guardian Involvement
If issues persist, parents or guardians will be contacted to collaborate on a supportive plan moving forward.

  4. Dismissal (if necessary)
In serious or ongoing cases, a camper may be sent home. Refunds will not be issued in the case of dismissal for disciplinary reasons.

Immediate Dismissal:
Bullying or acts of physical aggression may lead to immediate dismissal. Future participation may be reconsidered depending on the nature of the behavior.

All decisions will be made with fairness and compassion, guided by our values and operating procedures to ensure safety and dignity for everyone involved.
